I’m Stephen Ratcliff. I’ve been practicing dentistry here in Arlington, Texas since 1990. I have found amazing people in this community, all the way out to Grand Prairie. At Stephen Ratcliff Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we focus on three important things as we endeavor to be your dental provider of choice.
Hello Texas, let’s talk about the root canal procedure (“endodontic therapy” in dentist-speak). The root canal may be the most cringe-worthy dental treatment commonly done today, but it is important that dental patients in the Mansfield TX, Bentley Village, and Cook’s Meadow areas know what is happening during this anxiety-inducing, though routine procedure.
These days Fort Worth residents are more conscious of their health than ever. Many of us are trying to stay active, eat a balanced diet, and better manage stress. When you feel healthy, attractive, and happy, you smile more often. You want your smile to complement and enhance your physical and mental condition. Here at Stephen Ratcliff, Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we want to make sure that those in the Mansfield TX, Bentley Village, and Cook’s Meadow area have healthy, attractive teeth.
Dental crowns have been used in dentistry for over 2,000 years. There is evidence that the Etruscans experimented with crowns on teeth using ivory and bone as early as 700 B.C. By 200 A.D., they began using gold crowns to construct artificial teeth. Ancient Egyptians fashioned tooth replacements out of seashells and then hammered them into their gums. (Oral sedation, anyone?)
